I’m so ready to start something new…so much so that I’ve been more expectant than usual and perhaps a bit neglectful of my everyday chores. The effect, to those who are watching (that’d be my partner and my animals) is that I am somewhat scattered. And I’ve been having lots of conversations with myself…out loud!
Ever heard of the Keystone Cops?
Wikipedia says :
The term has since come to be used to criticize any group for its mistakes, particularly if the mistakes happened after a great deal of energy and activity, or if there was a lack of coordination among the members of the group.
This could be the very definition of the universal energy of February gone wrong.
Universally, we may be energized, eager to begin new ventures, downright brain-sick for the chance to circumvent difficult situations. We shift into overdrive, in a frenzied, poorly considered quest for something different. Anything different. And in our fumbling hurried-ness, we mistake intensity for focus, activity for effectiveness.
I’ll give you the same advice I’ve given myself…calm down!
Yes,we’ve all had extended bad times (i.e. the global poverty cycle, the population of Haiti, the innocent civilians in Afghanistan, Alexandra Penny, Nodar Kumaritashvili etc.) but pursing a future in a giddy agitated manner is not going to get us where we want to go.
So what is?
The condition of being free, of having the power to think or act without restraint is an important position to explore within certain boundaries. Without form, we can’t even expect to achieve the well-being of amoebas so keep in mind that too much immunity from the consequences of life is just that…too much, no matter how much you consider yourself to be in deficit.
Being sensible doesn’t mean accepting the status quo and the slavish boot of “the man”. A middle ground exists for all of us to expand and expound on what has been typical and normal for each one of us. Find your place of wacky temperance without burning bridges that you wished were still standing next month.
