I haven’t studied Russian or French for years, decades actually. But when I went to study in an emersion language program in Costa Rica, both my French and Russian vocabulary rushed to the forefront of my brain, their previously mastered syntax and meter active gatekeepers resisting all any attempts at language acquisition. In trying to converse in this third language, even though I have no longer have great linguistic skills in the other two languages, my grey matter became obsessed with the past and French and/ or Russian vocab became aggressively primary.
My instructor, a multi-lingual herself frequently scolded me for blurting out these other foreign language phrases and epithets in response to language drills in Spanish. Apparently the way my brain was wired in the past impacts how I accessed and parsed new information. I gradually overcame such intellectual spasms, but it highlighted for me the way the past, present and future interact in surprisingly complex ways.
“If you have ever run hot with rage or heavy with despair simply by thinking about something painful—the past, present , or future—then you already know the immense power of the thinking verbal mind. Thoughts are so powerful they can stimulate intense emotional states that permeate our entire experience.”

November’s Eleven universal energy highlights the exceedingly heady experience of vibrating at high levels of sensitivity, of being a tuning fork for the morphic field. Functioning as a kind of receiver across distance and time, operating this month is a co-mingling of existence that forces us to grapple with the vast landscape of our life experience, good, bad or somewhere in between. It’s a world class entanglement, when life, our lived experience folds in on itself like a tesseract, multiple particles, from vastly distant ranges linking and co-mingling in unthinkable ways.
The entire scenario is super-charged by the seasonal transit of Venus through Scorpio, which naturally plumbs our depths. Hampered as she is by this placement for the rest of the month, the planet of relating actively shuns the superficial gloss over, she outright gags on small talk. This is another way of saying, when the shadow bubbles up in the middle of unassuming dinner conversation, you can’t just *step away*, you have to stay for hours, rehashing the submerged muck, shoved under a rock for years. You can’t avert your eyes, or rather, you do so at your own peril.
While eleven master energy often ramps down to a two, a harmonious, kumbaya move that elevates peace above all else, *this eleven month*, like the goddess of love’s romp through the scorpionic swamp, ratchets up the tension, through the end of November. Accompanied by the Sun in Scorpio, this is messy, full-press commitment to growth. Don’t be surprised if you get battered in the process.
However tumultuous this month can be, it also can be breathtaking in it’s breakthroughs. Going deep brings us closer to truth and the kind of wisdom that is earned and accrued for keeps.
“…take a breath. Instead of questioning everyone else’s motives or trying to control all the outcomes of a situation, lead with honestly expressing how you feel. The good news? Once Venus in Scorpio commits, you know it’s for keeps”.

“Venus in Scorpio dislikes artifice and resists all efforts to control her. She asks us to find beauty in what we truly are and what we’re authentically drawn to”.

Actions for this Eleven month in a Nine Year:
Gently inventory your foibles. How do you still self-sabotage your peace and wellbeing? Pick one trait and find a way to minimize it’s impact on your life now.
Name one thing you’ve always liked about yourself. Remind yourself of that beloved quality every day.
How can you simultaneously embrace the trajectory that takes you into the deep emotional waters of your life (and what are the consequences if you don’t do it now?)

“Find a bit of beauty in the world today. Share it. If you can’t find it, create it. Some days this may be hard to do.”
