July is an Eight month Numerologically
Where are we?
I once used that question, Where Am I, as the title to a picture I took of my elderly dog in my old backyard. The area to the rear and side of the house was quite large, encompassing almost a 1/3 of an acre, and Ricky, our rescue corgi-dachund liked to independently walk around the grounds slowly and deliberately, marking each and every tree stump and thorny bush. But as he advanced in years, his sight and hearing failed and often we’d find him transfixed in one spot, trying to figure out how to return to the back door. If we yelled loud enough, he attempt to plot a path to our voice commands but with time even that proved an impossible task.
Eventually, to find his way back to us, he’d park himself wherever he was and just bark until we came and retrieved him, rewarding him with kisses and hugs. That new routine, where we would go to him, ushered in a new closeness, as we catered to the latter stages of his life with us.
Once his doggy play land turned into unfamiliar territory, Ricky’s fun morphed into an ordeal and he had to find new ways to deal with his changed circumstances. This summer the dog days of July can resemble Ricky’s experience in our yard. What we once experienced as joy can unfold in ways both unfamiliar and strange. This highlights the principle of unforeseen and unintended circumstances, often a painful lesson for us humans who thrive and depend on predictable patterns. We like stability, regularity, stasis. We enjoy the certainty of life, we love the accolades that comes from maturity. But fate has other plans.
Whether gradually or via fits and starts, we living creatures, like my dear old Ricky, often experience the march of time as disorienting, discombobulating, the familiar turned on its head. The eight energy of July occurring halfway through the 2025 calendar year emphasizes the quixotic quality of corporeal existence…life moves in ways unseen and unknown.

And this July in particular, is pivotal, for it encompasses the shift of the planet Uranus into a new sign (Gemini), for the first time since 1949. Like that tumultuous time period of yore, July will give us a sneak peak at the shape of rapid change before us . Eight energy is a leveling up, a push toward results and action. July to mid-November is but a preview of the epic re-calibration, a re-set. Times such as these propel us beyond the boundaries of the past in ways we cannot conceive of. Similar to the years between 1941 and 1949, life’s learning curve will prove steeper than usual.
So, now, what do we do?

Keeping up with the rapidly changing nature of things is a lesson for the next decade. To be sure, everyone is on their own path but collectively we improve our chances of success by employing a few key strategies:
–Notice where you are restless: What part of your life needs a change up? Focusing on those transformations you favor helps with future necessary shifts.
–Lean into change if your gut or your sixth sense starts stirring: Let your self be motivated by the anticipation of transition rather than transfixed by it. Allow your intuition be your guide forward.
–Get comfortable with doing things differently before you need to: Move to a new city before you are ready, adapt healthier lifestyle habits even if you feel fine, embrace new relationship routines with those you care about even when everything is appears to be copacetic, introduce new tech into the rhythm your day even if your old habits “work just fine”. Essentially, look for small improvements rather than digging in and making do. Letting change become a constant friend and consort helps us find balance more rapidly, because in the coming days it may show up out of the blue.
And lastly,
–See the silver lining in change: Learning new tricks (like our old dog Ricky had to) has side effects beyond the initial uneasiness born from trying something new. The mental discomfort— the cognitive dissonance of it all— can create new ways of addressing formerly intractable problems. Make a point of noticing where your transitions spark benefits and blessings.
